ONGOING SITE PLOT:
Welcome to the alliances of the fighting cats, the felidae fighters. They had always been in a constant struggle for survival, whether it be their Clans or families, which had settled in the lands before that of the Clans. Peace had settled over the land for many seasons, many moons, and the Clans and families prospered, sort of like a golden age.
However, things took a turn for the worse when suddenly Gang of Sorrows, as the gang was called, asked for a slice of territory. They wanted to adapt to become Clans, however, their true goal was to take over like their sibling gang, the Gang of Shadows. Ever since the asking and the abrupt move in of the Gang of Shadows, things have been going from bad to worse, and the peace that was shared for moons was torn apart. New threats began to spring up, and fires have been on the rise; suspicious.
Could the Clans and families survive their newfound ordeal? We will only find the answers through roleplaying. The felidae fighters unsheathe their claws on a new plot.

.Paintedeclipse. « Thread Started on Sept 17, 2008, 10:53pm »
{Name:} .Paintedeclipse.
{Gender:} .she-cat.
{Age:} .six.years.old.
{Clan:} .EndlessClan.
{Rank:} .leader.
{Short Physical Description:} Paintedeclipse is a calico cat, her pelt as beautiful as any picture a Twoleg could paint. Her eyes are a lovely shade of olive green, and her body is a bit peculiar; her legs are longer than normal, but they are strong with muscle. Paintedeclipse also has a long tail, which serves as her balance control when she runs and as a rudder when she swims. Her overall size is that of a medium, healthy cat.
{Full Physical Description:} When a cat first meets Paintedeclipse, they would think that she is oddly shaped because of her long features. It's just how this leader is; she was built for the land and sea. Her legs serve as strong paddles that kick through water almost effortlessly, but also serve as clubs with sharp claws on the ends during battle. Her long tail has a dual purpose as well; it balances her out when she runs, since it would be a bit difficult to run with your body a bit higher off the ground compared to others, and as a rudder to steer in the ocean current. Moving onto her actual body, it can be seen that Paintedeclipse has a marvelous calico pelt, inherited from her mother. It is short enough that it doesn't retain water, leaving her ill from an afternoon swim or hunt, but it is long enough to protect her body from the dramatic cold of the ocean. Paintedeclipse's ears are normal sized compared to the rest of her features, but they are a bit wider, giving her a bit of a hearing advantage. The last detail of this she-cat is her notable olive green eyes that are very breath taking to stare into; it's like one gets lost in them, beauty captivating, allowing others into Paintedeclipse's life, though they never leave with her's. They just soothe others, allowing them to speak to her without fear.
{Inheritance:} ~ calico pelt; it once belonged to her beautiful mother ~ eyes that will see it all; handed down from her father ~ legs that will carry the clan; given by her father ~ heart that will always love & understand; from her loving parents
{Strengths:} ~ very intelligent; thinks on her paws ~ compassionate; her judgement is very fair ~ determined; always wants the best for her clan ~ strong both in & out of battle; brute strength can always be used elsewhere ~ agile in & out of water; can swim like a fish and run like a doe ~ gentle heart; cannot turn away a cat or kit in need ~ hiding emotions; carries her burdens, never letting the clan take a share of it ~ patient; never in a hurry, therefore never missing a detail ~ strategist; coming up with plans is her second wind
{Weaknesses:} ~ doesn't prioritize; matters simply get out of hand and overwhelm her ~ fear of death; the thought of anyone dying chills her blood ~ distracted easily; anything can catch her attention ~ killing in battle; she cannot end another life, even if it is an enemy's ~ visions: EclipseClan throws her the bad news, expecting her to dodge it and overcome
{Fighting Style:} Paintedeclipse's fighting style is just like poetry in motion; her movements are very graceful and beautiful, as if it were a deadly dance between her and the opponent. Her body is a streamline that circles the opponent, trapping him or her in a small circle, drawn in the sand or dirt with her pacing paws which dig wonderous curves around the doomed. At the point where her opponent has given up following her in her deadly dance, she quickens the pace, breaking out into a full sprint, propelling her body forward with long legs packed tight with muscles. Paintedeclipse then aims for the back of her opponent, landing on his or her back, anchoring herself down with her claws sheathed deeply into the other's shoulders and thighs. Once her hold is secured on the now bucking cat, she heads for the spinal cord, with a well placed bite with her fangs.
However, if the opponent is too keen for the circling technique, Paintedeclipse is not afraid to go paw-to-paw with the other cat. Often she presses her ears against her head, protecting them since they are sensitive, while swinging her claws, with deadly precision, at the other's face, chest, and throat. Her dance moves are not forgotten though, as she remains vigilant, stepping back and forth, weaving between missed blows and recovering back from landed ones gracefully. Basically, Paintedeclipse uses her speed and agility to battle, throwing in her brute strength every now and then when her opponents doubt that she will be no challenge, just to surprise them.
But one big aspect of her fighting style is that she will not kill ( except when it is a hunting situation; though she is known to thank EclipseClan after every small kill ). She will allow the opponent to leave with their life, as well as a very important life lesson; never mess with the leader of EndlessClan or they will face a serious tail whipping.
{Personality:} Paintedeclipse is a cat that anyone would say is fit to be a leader, however, she begs to differ. She is very intelligent, never abandoning her clan mates, or the duties that a leader must face, compassionate and caring about every member in her clan, whether it is a kit or an elder, she is there for them. She just knows how to approach anyone and start a conversation with them, though when she recieves a response that signals that they want to be left alone, Paintedeclipse takes it personally, thinking that she did something to offend them. She is a very self conscious cat, wondering if others know about her terrible past, or if they doubt that her connection with EclipseClan is real or not. However, she does not let that get her down; she just buries all of those negative feelings deep down inside of herself, never letting anyone know what she thinks or feels, thus it gives the clan members an air of concern about this shecat because they don't know what's going on in her mind.
When Paintedeclipse is overwhelmed or is just too stressed out or angered, she will walk away from the problem that's in front of her. This basically happens when she doesn't have any patience left or someone is trying to push her buttons on purpose. But it is nothing compared to when she is really, really ticked off. She will reveal the monster within, lashing out at anyone and everyone. So the best advice is to run away or do some serious kissing up. Luckily, she rarely loses her temper in such a manner, but she does maintain a serious air on a daily basis, whether she is training or hunting; it's just a part of being the leader of a clan. One part she cannot accept is the killing of others. Seeing so many loved ones die in her life is enough for her to refuse the practice of killing a foe. She just prays to EclipseClan that they learn from a heavy beating that they learn their lesson.
{History:} It was the blessing of EclipseClan that allowed the safe kitting of three beautiful calico kits to two proud EndlessClan cats, Lunarmelody and Bearsnout, it truly was, though the best of wishes did not last long for tragedy was soon to strike.
In the beginning of Paintedeclipse's life, she was known as Paintedkit, with her younger sister, Quietkit, and younger brother, Cursedkit. They were praised for inheriting their parents' good looks and prized for the ability to learn at such a young age. A few weeks passed by and the young trio began to walk, explore, paddle around in small tide pools, and learn how to live the life of a clan cat. Paintedkit had always looked up to her father, Bearsnout for many reasons. He worked alongside the deputy, Speckledclaw, and leader, Fadingeclipse, seeming as if he were third in command. She wanted to be just like him, but never dreamed that she would become the leader one day. However, it all started one night, where dreams began to flood her young mind, too advanced and explicit for any young cat to dream of.
For many nights, she tossed and turned, crying out for help, for her mother, for her sister, and for Fadingeclipse, clawing at the side of the nest she shared with Quietkit. Living up to her name, Quietkit did not say anything, but watched in wonder as her sister suffered from invisible torture. Cursedkit just sneered at the two, wishing Quietkit would shut her up for everyone else was trying to sleep. The next day, Bearsnout or Lunarmelody would ask what she was frightened about the night before, and Paintedkit would simply respond, I can't tell you 'cause I something tells me that you won't believe me. These convesations usually happened in the den, so a growing Cursedkit would be there to poke fun at his sister's expense. Why ask her? She's a looney cat... Who knows what's wrong with her. Did you drop her on the head mom? he would snicker before prancing out of the den to explore. Don't worry about your brother, he just doesn't understand. I'm sure that your nightmares will go away soon enough dear. Lunarmelody would purr in Paintedkit's ear for comfort. But comforting words did not help her any. They just got worse with time.
The day the calico trio turned six moons old, they were being apprenticed to cats in the clan; but the night before, Paintedkit had the worst dream ever. Her sister was drowning before her eyes. She woke up in the midst of the night, believing that she was a terrible cat for wishing that upon Quietkit. She paced the den for the rest of the night, waiting to speak to Fadingeclipse; she needed to confide in someone other than anyone from her family. But due to the fact that their apprentice ceremony was that day, her request to see the leader was put off.
While waiting for her name to be called, later that day, Paintedkit practically danced on her paws, just waiting for the moment that the ceremony was over. She wasn't excited about becoming an apprentice. She wanted answers as to why cats, or Quietkit, was dying in her dreams. Quietkit noticed her sister's anxiety and gently nudged her. What's going on? she whispered quietly while Fadingeclipse granted Cursedkit his apprentice name. I've been having these weird thoughts lately... Like is any of it for real or not? I just want to talk to Fadingeclipse because I'm scared... Paintedkit responded in a hushed whisper. Quietkit mouthed a silent "Oh" and jumped when her name was called. This would be the last time Paintedkit would speak to her sister. Paintedkit watched as Quietkit went up, becoming Quietpaw, then moving over to join Cursedpaw on the other side of Fadingeclipse, next to their mentors. It was Paintedkit's turn now. She took the next step and opened the door to a new chapter in her life.
Later that evening, after coming back from a short hunting trip with her father, Bearsnout, who was also her mentor, they discovered that Lunarmelody was a bit distressed. What's wrong? Bearsnout questioned his mate, pressing his muzzle to her shoulder in an attempt to get her to calm down. It did not work. Lunarmelody began to pace, eyes wide in horror as a fading yowl floated through the air. Quietpaw never came back... S-She went to go get a drink of water... she whispered, though Paintedpaw could still hear her. She felt a lump form in the middle of her throat as the cry sounded once more, and she realized who it was. Quietpaw. No... she breathed, closing her eyes, the vision of Quietpaw floundering around in the water. She's drowning. T-There's no hope.. Paintedpaw grunted, the words forced through clenched teeth. How do you know? Bearsnout meowed. I-I saw it... in my dream. she breathed, but once she looked up, she realized that her parents were gone. They went to see Quietpaw in her final moments. Paintedpaw didn't want to see it again, ducking her head, she ventured into the den, where she slumped into the lonely nest that had Quietpaw's scent clinging to it.
A few moons went by, mostly everyone was done mourning the loss of Quietpaw but Cursedpaw was still sour over Paintedpaw's knowing of it, and never sharing it. You know, sis could still be alive it if weren't for you. he would snap at Paintedpaw, just to bring her down every morning. Bearsnout and Lunarmelody did their best to protect Paintedpaw from her brother's jeering, but they were always unsuccessful. Therefore, Bearsnout decided to take the possibility that EclipseClan had somehow selected Paintedpaw to have strong visions as a sign.
Very interesting... You have visions... You are strongly connected to EclipseClan, young one. Fadingeclipse said to Paintedpaw one day. But I don't want to have these visions, they are nothing but bad news for everyone that I love! she exclaimed, but bowed her head in apology. You must understand Paintedpaw, that EclipseClan has chosen you over the rest to be a significant part of this clan, perhaps even the leader when my time has come. Fadingeclipse meowed. Me? Be a leader? I'm not so sure about that... she replied, shaking her head. You'll see one day, whether it is in your dreams or you face it in real life. Now go on, train with your father. Fadingeclipse said, dismissing the young she-cat as he ventured off on his own to converse with the medicine cat and deputy.
Skipping ahead a few more moons, the pride and joy of the clan was growing into a beautiful young she-cat, destined to be leader, by messages both the medicine cat and Fadingeclipse had recieved in the time passing. However, no one knew how she would become leader or if Fadingeclipse was just going to step down and retire. It was all up in the air at the moment. However, trouble was brewing, as Cursedpaw became envious of his sister, soon drifting out of the spotlight their sister's misfortunes drew upon the two of them. He blamed everyone for being too nice to Paintedpaw and that she was never going to become a good leader like everyone expected. Lunarmelody did not like the way he bad mouthed his sister and often stood up to the young tom, punishing him like a kit. This time the vision came too late for Paintedpaw. She witnessed the murder of her mother, and all that came from her was a shocked gasp, since she was out with Fadingeclipse and Bearsnout. Mother... was all that she could breathe, blinking away the vision and the tears.
By the time they returned to the camp, Lunarmelody was dead, and Cursedpaw was gone. Only Paintedpaw knew how the murder went down, yet she never will share it because it brings her to tears everytime. It was then that her brother was considered a dangerous cat and that he was to be dispatched the next time he was seen. That was just another death waiting to happen.
It seemed that Paintedpaw was the only one of her litter to recieve a proper warrior name. She was dubbed Paintedsoul by Fadingeclipse because it was with her good soul that she would lead EndlessClan out of despair and hard times. But for now, peace was among them, several more moons after the slaughter of Lunarmelody. In order to become the next leader, she had to have an apprentice, or at least train one for the time being. She was assigned Sootpaw, though she really didn't teach him anything. Bearsnout stood in for Paintedsoul when she needed the time alone to think, which was quite often. She had so many questions to ask Cursedpaw, but there was no way she could ever find him. He was long gone. Besides, she had to attempt to save a life now.
It was like every move that she was made was planned out for her. EclipseClan had every step laid out for her. They wanted her to be leader, but why? There was no answer to that. In her mind, she had just seen Sootpaw be bitten by a poisonous snake; she knew that he had no chance of survival, but she had to be there for the fact that she was his mentor. She approached the little semi-circle around the young tom, her head bowed, tears glazing her eyes, and said a few kind words into his ear. The last thing that Sootpaw managed to do was smile and say, Thank you Paintedsoul. It was hard for Paintedsoul to come back from that death as well because she wasn't there to stop it nor did EclipseClan let her know what was going to happen. Once again, this could've been prvented, but what help was she?
Her time finally came when Fadingeclipse decided that it was time for him to retire and hand over the role of leader to a young cat that had a strong connection to EclipseClan. It was time for Paintedsoul to shine. And now, the visions ceased their haunting of her. Paintedsoul became Paintedeclipse after struggling for so many years, coping wtih the many loses of all those dear to her. Perhaps it was just a test from the cats above, wanting her to beome strong enough to lead an entire clan that would soon need a strong leader to guide them through troubled times. Who knows what lies in store for the cats of EndlessClan, but now that Paintedeclipse has finally matured and gained her nine lives, she is ready for anything and everything, except more visions from EclipseClan.
{Summary:} Paintedeclipse's early life was plagued with misfortune and death, however, she learned to overcome the tragedies that stood in her way and with the help of EclipseClan and the acceptance of the clan members, she became the leader of EndlessClan.
